The Mixer Performing Arts Campus is envisioned as a dynamic ecosystem where organizations thrive independently while finding unity within a shared arts center. This central hub fosters collaboration, facilitates talent exchange, and nurtures social connections. By celebrating individuality, the campus creates a space where diverse artistic voices contribute to a vibrant arts collective, deeply integrating the arts into the community's fabric.
Adaptable and inclusive by design, this campus invites innovation, growth, and cultural significance. It serves as a platform for creative exploration and community engagement, reflecting the evolving needs of its users while fostering a profound connection to the arts. Here, creativity flourishes, and the performing arts become a cornerstone of cultural identity and expression.

INTRODUCTION PROJECT: The Arts Quarter Master Plan
To start off the project, teams looked into a potential master plan development for the block, newly called the Arts District. This project looked into the idea of putting the arts on display. The three organizations we designed for include the Omaha Academy of Ballet, the Omaha Conservatory of Music, and the Omaha Community Playhouse. As a result, the project puts these three organizations on a pedestal while providing moments for the arts to "spill" into the rest of the district. This district includes several mixed-use developments with housing, creative programs such as art galleries and workshops, and much more. With the location being located near 72nd and Dodge in Omaha, Nebraska, there was a strong pull from the intersection. This intersection is known for public gathering and bringing awareness to various current events. To remind the quarter of this, the project pulls a 45 degree angle that is seen in the rest of the site to frame the new Omaha Central Library and also create a cohesive design motif.

The Mixer Performing Arts Campus
The concept of the project is focused on bringing the organizations (Omaha Conservatory of Music, Omaha Community Playhouse, Omaha Academy of Ballet, and Greater Omaha) together in one campus. The idea of creating a campus was derived from the need of maintaining organization identity. In doing so, this allows a second concept of putting the arts on display which was also found in the master plan. This is executed through a central social promenade. This promenade, along with the layout and space planning, follows the three proposed principles: community, cross-pollination, and adaptability.
Some of the main challenges in the project included the following: topography, organization needs, back-of-house services, and acoustic control. All of these challenges are delicately and decisively concluded in The Mixer Performing Arts Campus.
