The Webwork Center is a multicultural center located within Centenial Mall, near the Nebraska State Capitol building. The purpose of this project is to bring the needs and wants of the people to attention and quantify these needs within the library. The Pershing Center near the Nebraska State Capitol is due for demolition. In doing so, the Webwork Center maintains key aspects from the former building, while still introducing new organic geometry to the downtown area. With geometries founded off the curves of a polyester sheet, the Webwork Center allows for a user to experience a more lively Centennial Mall. This building is divided into three segments within the overall layout; learn, engage, and remember. To invoke the public interest and nostalgia of the Pershing Center, the Webwork Center preserves and restores the auditorium floor, north façade, and the mural that so many remember. The library serves the people with many different aspects from public user systems and private-based classes. Webwork Center responds to both the history of Lincoln and the modernity of the current era. It is a connection of the past, present, and future.
