The Fissure restaurant considers multiple parameters including structure, organization, and material acknowledging their potential to inform each other. Downtown Lincoln, Nebraska lacks true, natural green space where the environment can grow seamlessly; Fissure allows modernity and the natural environment to coexist in a meaningful accord, where they collide. Troubles come from modern life being divorced from nature; here, guests are given the opportunity to experience both. The restaurant also unifies the North Antelope Parkway to the rest of the downtown area by creating a more gradual introduction to nature, instead of a stark split by a street.
